WEEKEND STYLING, TREND EDITION!

3/31/2012

One of my favorite trends that is not particularly new- but continues to create such impact especially when combining bold colors.

Orange top by Joseph, Carven miniskirt, Brian Atwood Fringe T-Strap sandal $350, Leather clutch with foldover flap by Zara $159, Prada Saffino belt, Paul Smith acqua blazer, Nine West colorblock bracelet, Dior Nail Vernis.

Definitely not a trend for the faint of heart! These tummy exposing tops are very easy to style, you can come up with an endless of possibilities with high waisted skirts to hip hugging leather pants.

Spot side Bra top by Missselfridge.com, Balmain black leather skinny pants, 'Fluida' coral suit jacket by MANGO, Versace studded white leather skirt $4,675, Blousson Nior Raffia bra top, Christian Louboutin Pigalle $625, Christian Louboutin Sex 120 patent shoes $1395, YSL rope cuff $559.

Flowers are no longer for grandmas :P Many famous bloggers have been seen wearing a full-on flower look which I'm sure many people wouldn't dare wearing. If this trend is a bit much for you, try wearing just floral pants and keeping the rest of your outfit neutral.

Cafe capri in Fresco Floral Jcrew $298, Another little trend for you: peplum! Jcrew's Peplum top in Fresco Floral $350, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli messenger bag $750, Malene Birger pumps $595, YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick, DG 'rose' nail polish, Jcrew blue wide bangle $28, See by Chloe bangle set $55, I. Makri gold and diamond studs $1640.

Pay attention to pleats this season- in particular accordion and delicate plisse' and in terms of color, pastels continue to be big especially the color mint.

Limited edition pleat maxi dress by Topshop $350, RAIN stone bracelet $72, Zara sandal with methacrylate heel $129, Versace leather quilted bag $1695, Mango pink belt, Topshop pastel pink earrings, Laura Mercier pink blush.

Three exciting trends seen on the skirts above: The first one, the mullet trend, is very popular in the dress department as well-just make sure to wear high heels with this one! Having the shorter length at front is a great excuse to rock fabulous sandals. Folds, ruffles and ruching take the conventional pencil skirt out for a spin as our second trend. The third one is all about the gloss and the shine- basic metallics will be a big hit for spring.

(L-R) 3.1 Phillip Lim metallic tank, black glossy belt by All Saints, Cut 25 yellow Sulphur skirt, Giuseppe Zanotti sandals $930, Jcrew Lion head necklace $50, Balmain salmon tank, Lanvin draped skirt, Zara I basic Sandal, Kate Spade coral 'Dotz' necklace $148, Cheap Monday 'Mercedes' black tank $22, Dior diamante buckle belt, Christian Louboutin 'Decollete' pums $625, Pink Tartan silver short skirt.
