FASHION TRENDS: GUIDE TO SPRING PANTS

5/08/2012
It seems everyone has gone mad for crazy pants. Traditional, conservative & boring pants have gone out the window and for this spring we see different alternatives to looking fresh and young. Below are six different trends that have been taking the world by storm and a few options for you from stores Zara, Jcrew, Asos and Shopbop- all pretty affordable :)

Floral pants are probably the biggest trend right now and in particular full floral looks from head to toe. If you are not much of a fashion risk taker, just go for floral pants and  neutral tops and accessories. The trick is to find the right balance. Picture credit: Kayture

As neons continue to transition into this year's spring, we find ourselves with an infinity of options to really stand out in a crowd. Apart from neons and pastels, we also see bold colors such as royal blues and bright corals making a statement. Picture credit: Fashion Vibe

*Blue pants from Phillip Lim, Pink eyelet pant from Jcrew, Neon Yellow jeans from Zara and Orange trousers from Asos.

This is my favorite pant-trend for spring. I find this look to be incredibly bad ass and love to see girls wearing black leather pants or in this case for spring, leggings, that are matched with the most simple/basic tees. It really creates a really sexy and effortless look. If you're someone that lives in a place where weather is extreme and spring feels like summer, you can take this trend into night time. Picture credit: Aimee from Song of Style

Whether its geometric shapes, polka dots or simply gingham, prints are everywhere this season. Take a bold statement and go even bolder with a printed top. For example, you can take Jcrew's dotted pants from below and pair it with a striped red and white tee, you'll see how fresh and beautiful it looks. Just like the floral trend, this one is also about finding the right balance and balance does not mean one single colored tops, it means complimenting each other in a subtle manner. You think of spring/summer and you think of white. Go for crisp white on white outfits and you'll see heads turning. For this season, denim is not the only alternative, palazzo pants that are silky and flowy are making a comeback. Picture credit Jessica Stein from Tuula.

This is perhaps the hardest trend to pull off and it certainly wont be everyone's cup of tea. However, there is something so incredibly fresh about pairing silky pants with silky tops. It is one easy way to look great and yet be incredibly comfortable. Photo credit: Erika from My Free Choice.
