9 NYFW STREETSTYLE TRENDS!

This is one post I'm super excited to share with you! A couple of weeks ago, after I found out I was going to New York Fashion Week, I asked you guys on Instagram if you would rather see all the craziness inside the shows or if you would prefer that I show you the streetstyle outside. 90% of you voted streetstyle. I obviously love attending and watching shows, but just like you, I'm much more interested in finding out how people adopt trends and how they use them on their own personal styles. After hitting the streets myself and with a little research, I did a list of 9 NYFW trends that were big this season. As you probably know, fashion week in New York is a lot more trend- driven, a lot more fun, casual and you can see tons of personality on the streets. These are current trends, trends on the street, on the stores, ones that you can go ahead and buy TODAY. That's the purpose of this post after all- to give you ideas that you can easily incorporate into your wardrobes and give you major fashion inspo! I hope you enjoy this one! 

Este es un post que de verdad me da felicidad mostrar porque sé que ustedes lo pidieron. Hace unas semanas, un poco después de enterarme que iría al New York Fashion Week, les pregunté por Instagram que es lo que mas les gustaría ver. 90% de ustedes prefirieron looks de streetstyle y tendencias versus los shows. A mi personalmente me encanta asistir a shows pero entiendo perfectamente porque ustedes prefieren los looks de calle. Es mucho mas entretenido ver las tendencias en personas, usadas de mil formas distintas, en personas reales y en diferentes tipos de personalidades. Después de observar tendencias por una semana y con ayuda de un poquito de investigación, hice este post de las 9 tendencias del NYFW que están siendo usadas en esta temporada. Estas son tendencias que encontraran en las calles, en las tiendas y que ustedes fácilmente podrán incluir en sus guardarropas! Espero lo disfruten! 

TREND #1: METALLICS

This trend really comes from outerspace! Metallics (particularly silver) were seen on the streets of New York City... and guess what? the shinier the better! 

La tendencia de metálicos, particularmente el plateado, se vió mucho en las calles de Nueva York la semana pasada. Si quieres saltar a esta tendencia recuerda que mientras más brillosa la tela metalizada, mejor!

TREND #2: ANIMAL PRINT

Leopard and python prints were seen everywhere! I think this has to be the most used trend of them all. The good news is that everyone will be able to wear it, because who doesn't own an animal print piece in their closet? It's time to take the whole zoo out to play! 

Estampas de leopardo, de piton, de jirafa, de tigre- lo vimos todo! Esta tiene que haber sido la tendencia más usada en el NYFW. Lo positivo de esto- es que quien no tiene una de estas piezas en su closet? Asi que aprovecha que están en tendencia esta temporada para usarlas!

TREND #3: FUN HANDBAGS!

Fanny packs, top handle bags, fishermen net bags, box bags, tiny bucket bags.. they were all there! If you want to make a statement this season, jump on the handbag bandwagon! 

Si quieres diferenciarte esta temporada de la forma mas fácil- opta por usar una de las tendencias de bolsos que están circulando! Riñoneras, bolsas de red marineras, bolsos caja, los famosos bucket bags, las micro bolsas estuvieron revolucionando la ciudad en los colores más vibrantes!

TREND #4: "LIFE IN PLASTIC, IT'S FANTASTIC"

Vinyl 'it pieces', clear plastic handbags, PVC Boots, transparent trench coats- I am living for this trend! 

Mi tendencia favorita de todas! El plástico no solo se vió en forma de vinyl en sacos, faldas y vestidos, pero también lo vimos en botas, en sacos de lluvia y bolsos!

TREND #5: WESTERN INSPIRATION

It's time to go west this season as cowboy boots are definitely in! Colorful, fun, non-traditional styles were hitting the streets this NYFW in beautiful prints and textures. Although this trend may not for everyone, they are a fun piece to have in your closet! Trendsetters on the other hand- rejoice :) 

Y nos fuimos para el oeste con esta tendencia! La tendencia de los cowboys está aqui y lo mas lindo de todos es ver las botas vaqueras en colores y texturas tan entretenidas. Si eres toda una trendsetter- esta tendencia será para ti! 

TREND #6: CHECK, PLEASE!

Checkered pieces and plaid are not going anywhere! If you love a schoolgirl look like me, embrace it this season! My favorite looks were whole checkered looks- from top to bottom and especially in bright colors. 

Los cuadros- una tendencia perfecta para esta época del año y es en si, porque es una movida clásica que nunca pasa de moda. Los cuadros son muy populares para el retorno escolar y en las calles de Nueva York vimos principalmente los cuadros ventana, tartan, y principe de gales.

SWEATER: YAPA SKIRT: ZARA

TREND #7: SILKY SMOOTH 

Despite the rainy weather during NYFW, lots of fashion bloggers and editors were spotted wearing silk and delicate pieces. Risky choice but they sure looked amazing. During early summer we saw more printed silk scarf dresses and skirts, but as we transition into fall, we will see more solid pieces particularly bias-cut skirts. As seen on NYFW. 

A pesar del mal tiempo, las piezas en sedas fueron muy populares. Durante el verano pudimos apreciar las sedas con estampas pero mientras transicionamos de temporada, veremos mas las sedas en colores sólidos. Las piezas claves serán las faldas en corte sesgo. 

TREND #8: POP OF RED

This was such an evident trend on NYFW. Full on red looks were big favorites on the big apple. Yellow was another big statement color! 

Sin duda alguna, el rojo fue el color de las calles! Los looks mas atractivos fueron aquellos monocromaticos- con rojo de pies a cabeza! Otro color que resalto: el amarillo. 

TREND #9: NEON ALERT! 

Last but definitely not least, neon made a comeback this season. Remember Michael Kors Fall 2009 collection? It kinda reminded me of that, and boy was I happy. I love neon- slime green, fluorescent orange, bright hot pink, vivid yellow, the gang was all there! If this trend is a bit much for you- see below how I styled a bit of neon into my look! 

Finalmente, la sorpresa del momento, la tendencia neon. Recuerdan el show de Michael Kors en Otoño del 2009? Las calles fueron asi, pero elevadas al 1,000%! Se veia neon por todas partes: verde, naranja, amarillo, rosado- todo en tonos fosforescentes! Si esta tendencia es un poco mucho para ti- vean abajo como yo usé solo un poquito de neon en mi look!
