Two weeks ago I had the privilege to attend the Sao Paulo Fashion Week through an invitation of ABIT, the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association and had the chance to attend a couple shows and various events. I fell in love with Brazilian fashion even more, which is something I did not think could be possible! Because of this, I made this short and fun post with all the shows I attended plus a few more that are too good to miss! I hope you enjoy! * Images via www.style.com
Dos semanas atrás tuve el privilegio de asistir al Sao Paulo Fashion Week gracias a una invitacion de ABIT, La Asociacion Brasileña de la Industria Textil de la Confeccion. Durante esa semana pude asistir a varios eventos incluyendo desfiles de moda de las ultimas colecciones para la temporada Otoño 2016. Para comenzar ya me encantaba la moda brasileña, pero despues de empaparme de su moda, quedé flechada aun mas. Por esta razón, los dejo con un post con todos los shows que vi y que amé incluyendo algunos que no pude ver en vivo pero son muy buenos para dejar a un lado. The first show I attended during SPFW and one that definitely stole my heart was Animale. Their collection 'Hybrid' was inspired by the 1960s, nature, art and as distinctively noticeable, by architecture. With clean lines and cuts and the perfect mix between soft and heavy textures, between lace and heavy wools, leather and silks.. this collection was a total hit.
El primer show al cual fui durante el Sao Paulo Fashion Week fue el de Animale y me robó el corazón. Su coleccion 'Hibridos' fue altamente inspirada en la decada de los 60s, la naturaleza, el arte y por supuesto, la arquitectura. Con cortes muy limpios, contrastes en texturas de muy delicados a muy fuertes, de encajes a lanas pesadas, de cueros a sedas... esta coleccion fue un hit total.
Gloria Coelho's Fall 2016 collection has a very minimalist feel to it. With lots of love for leather, it was seen in nudes, sienna tones and of course black and whites. The cuts on the leathers made this collection stand out.
La coleccion de Gloria Coelho para Otoño 2016 tiene un toque muy minimalista. Con mucho enfasis en el cuero, pudimos apreciar esta coleccion con este material en colores nude, siena, blancos y negros. Los fuertes cortes en los cueros fueron las piezas que mas resaltaron!
Known for premium denim since 1986, Colcci presented a collection that highlighted exactly what they're good at. The day before, conversing with Adriana Zucco, Creative Director, at the Colcci cocktail, I learned that this collection was highly inspired by notions of nature and it also had a 1970s vibe to it. During the show, Colcci presented beautiful pieces such as short and long denim coats, cropped denim trousers and special pieces done in beautiful earthy tones.
Conocidos por su alta cálidad en denim desde 1986, Colcci presentó una coleccion que enfatizaba la razón por lo cual son tan populares. El dia antes conversando con Adriana Zucco, directora creativa de la marca, ella contó un poco sobre la inspiracion de la naturaleza en esta coleccion y el toque muy a lo 70s. Durante el show pudimos apreciar hermosas piezas como abrigos largos y cortos de denim, jeans cortos y piezas especiales como vestidos en hermosos tonos cafes.
Helo Rocha known for statement dresses and having a dramatic look, presented a collection with a lot of attitude. A great contrast between strong, exotic skins and transparencies was seen and so was the great use of contrast between black and white.
Helo Rocha, marca conocida por sus vestidos llamativos y dramáticos nos presentó una coleccion con esas mismas características y con gran actitud. Se vió mucho contrate en texturas desde pieles exóticas combinadas con transparencias, como también el contraste de colores con el blanco y el negro.
Another of the shows I had the chance to see was Apartamento 03. This collection had great emphasis on their craftsmanship and their expensive materials- this was quite evident. The high quality textiles were seen on the loose garments in beautiful colors such as red, burgundy, teal, purple and black.
Otro de los shows que tuve el privilegio de ver fue el de Apartamento 03. Esta coleccion tenia materiales de mucha calidad y las piezas tenían mucho trabajado. La tendencia mas grande fue la de los volúmenes y piezas espaciosas vistas en finos materiales en color rojo, verde petróleo, morado y negro.
Black and white with a pop of color! Osklen's collection was one of my favorites this season for its refined yet relaxed fashion. With lots of loose silhouettes and a great emphasis on contrasting black and white, this collection was perfection. I would have loved to see this one live!
El color amarillo fue el que resaltó entre los contratantes blancos y negros. Osklen, una de mis colecciones favoritas de esta temporada mostró una moda muy relajada pero muy refinada a la vez. Con muchas piezas sueltas y la minimalista gama de colores, esta linea fue perfección. Me hubiera encantado ver esta presentación en vivo!
Saving the best show for last- PatBo, the collection from recognized fashion designer Patricia Bonaldi. My love for fringe was what blew me away in this collection as it is the biggest trend that will be seen on Fall 2016. Another aspect that I loved was the heavy textiles and the beautiful belts made out of rope. This collection's creativity and use of fabrics was what won me over.
El ultimo show que pude ser parte durante este Sao Paulo Fashion Week Otoño 2016 fue el de la diseñadora Patricia Bonaldi y su marca PatBo. Guardando mi favorito para el ultimo, esta coleccion mostró la gran tendencia de flecos que se vendrá con mucha fuerza la próxima temporada. Se vieron también textiles muy pesados y hermosas cuerdas que servían el propósito de cinturones. La creatividad de esta coleccion fue la razón que sobresalió tanto!
