BEST OF MINAS TREND 2017

I promised you this one, so here it is! Last month I got the privilege of going to Minas Trend in Belo Horizonte, Brazil for the second time and I have to say it gets better every time! The most recognized fashion event in Brazil that mixes business with fashion celebrated its 10th anniversary and therefore called this 20th edition "ANO.DEZ" (year 10) to show the evolution and the achievements the fashion industry in Minas Gerais has had with Minas Trend. Below I will show you my favorite looks of the shows I got the chance to see, plus a few details that are important about each collection. These are shows that reflect the impecable workmanship of the designers and the outstanding evolution of their fashion industry- incredible collections filled the best of Brazilian fashion.

THE BEST OF MINAS TREND 2016 | LO MEJOR DE MINAS TREND 2016

Last week I had the privilege to attend Minas Trend in Belo Horizonte, Brazil! It was a very different experience to anything I've ever attended before as this unique event mixes business with fashion. On it's 18th edition, Minas Trend had over 130 showrooms filled with only the best of Brazilian fashion and the latest of designer's Spring/Summer 2017 collections which have not hit stores yet. This way, buyers get first pick on everything and journalists, get to see trends before anyone else. Because of this, it is extremely attractive for the most prestigious multi-brand stores and journalists to come to this event. Thanks to an invitation of Tex Brazil and Abit, myself as The Big Brown Eyes and 4 other journalists from Vogue Italia, Elle Portugal, WGSN and El Universal (Mexico) got the chance to see the very best of fashion not only from Minas Gerais, but from all over Brazil. La semana pasada tuve el privilegio de asistir por primera vez a Minas Trend en Belo Horizonte, Brasil. Una experiencia super diferente para mi ya que usualmente uno asiste a desfiles de moda pero no a un evento de este tipo. Les explico porqué. Minas Trend en su edición numero 18, es el evento más consolidado de Brasil ya que une moda con negocios. Hay más de 130 showrooms con todo lo último de las colecciones de los mejores diseñadores del país y listos para mostrar sus prendas a los compradores mas prestigiosos del mundo. De esta manera pueden escoger lo último y lo mejor- ya que nada ha salido todavía a la venta. Para los periodistas y en este caso, por cual asistií yo, fué para ver de primera mano todas las tendencias en la pasarela y un adelanto muy importante de las colecciones primavera/Verano 2017. Gracias a TexBrasil y Abit- dos asociaciones de mucho nivel en Brazil,  5 periodistas incluyendo Vogue Italia, Elle Portugal, WGSN, El Universal de Mexico y The Big Brown Eyes estuvimos en primera fila para poder mostrar lo mejor de la industria de moda brasileña. CARMEN STEFFENS FALL/WINTER 2016

Here's a post dedicated to the powerful, confident woman- one that loves to dress to impress and is not afraid to experiment with trends. Carmen Steffens' latest collection for Fall/Winter 2016 speaks exactly to that women and brings us the latest trends from the runway straight from Punta del Este, Uruguay. Expect to see a lot of floral and animal prints, the classic black, the lace-up trend, some fringe and the beautiful suede trend. Opening the show? Victoria's Secret Angels Ana Beatriz Barros and Barbara Fialho. Everything is up next! 

Este es un post dedicado a la mujer fuerte y con mucho auto estima- aquella mujer que le encanta vestir para impresionar y que no tiene miedo de experimentar con tendencias. La ultima coleccion de Carmen Steffens Otoño/Invierno 2016 le habla exactamente a esa mujer y nos trae lo ultimo en tendencias directo desde la pasarela de Punta del Este, Uruguay donde se presentó al comienzo del mes. Algunas de las mas grande tendencias fueron las estampas florales oscuras, el clasico negro, la tendencia 'lace-up' o trenzado, un poco de gamuza y los flecos! El protagonismo de la  noche se lo llevaron las conocidas modelos de Victoria's Secret Ana Beatriz Barros y Barbara Fialho que abrieron y cerraron el show! Toda la coleccion- que también llegará a Bolivia- adelante! 

TRAVEL DIARY: PUNTA DEL ESTE

I recently had the privilege to attend an incredible fashion show on a location that I had never been before- Carmen Steffens in Punta del Este, Uruguay! To those who got to see some on my instagram (here) you've probably seen how beautiful this experience was for everyone that attended, how incredible their FW 2016 collection was and what an amazing time I had. For those who did not... here are a few of my favorite moments- including meeting Ana Beatriz Barros and Barbara Fialho, two of Victoria's Secret Angels! 

Recientemente tuve la oportunidad de asistir a un increíble desfile en un destino que jamas había visitado antes- el show de Carmen Steffens en Punta del Este, Uruguay. Para aquellos que me siguen en Instagram (aqui) seguro vieron que tan hermosa fue esta experiencia para mi, que increíble fue su coleccion de Otoño/Invierno 2016 y que hermosos días pase ahi. Para aquellos que no.. aqui los dejo con algunos de mis momentos favoritos incluyendo el momento que conocí a dos de las Victoria's Secret Angels mas famosas del mundo- Ana Beatriz Barros y Barbara Fialho.  Mañana les presentare la nueva coleccion de Carmen Steffens que pronto estara disponible mundialmente (incluyendo en Bolivia!) 

LATITURE

Aqui les muestro todo el photoshoot que hice para la increiblemente talentosa Anita Soto y su marca Latiture. "Giorti" una coleccion inspirada en la cultura griega nos mostró diseños en hermosas sedas italianas y telas vaporosas en estampas de color que representan mosaicos y porcelanas griegas.  Hagan click abajo para ver toda la hermosa coleccion! 

Here's the whole shoot I did for the incredibly talented designer Anita Soto and her brand LATITURE! "Giorti" is her collection inspired by the greek culture with beautiful italian silks, fabrics and prints with porcelain and greek mosaics. FASHION RECAP: SAO PAULO FASHION WEEK FALL 2016

Two weeks ago I had the privilege to attend the Sao Paulo Fashion Week through an invitation of ABIT, the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association and had the chance to attend a couple shows and various events. I fell in love with Brazilian fashion even more, which is something I did not think could be possible! Dos semanas atrás tuve el privilegio de asistir al Sao Paulo Fashion Week gracias a una invitacion de ABIT, La Asociacion Brasileña de la Industria Textil de la Confeccion. Durante esa semana pude asistir a varios eventos incluyendo desfiles de moda de las ultimas colecciones para la temporada Otoño 2016. Para comenzar ya me encantaba la moda brasileña, pero despues de empaparme de su moda, quedé flechada aun mas. Por esta razón, los dejo con un post con todos los shows que vi y que amé incluyendo algunos que no pude ver en vivo pero son muy buenos para dejar a un lado. ICE TEES

Two weeks ago I did a photoshoot for a 'just fresh out of the oven' brand called ICETEES. Their main vision is to stay cool and current in their designs that come from inspirations of fashion, design, music and pop culture in general. They started off being just a "t-shirt" brand but now have expanded their line to bodysuits, crop-tops, sweaters, beanies and hats. They are growing so fast and are a must have for all the cool kids out there. If you are wondering how you can get a hold of these babies.. they are based in Santa Cruz, Bolivia but do ship to most international locations- just make sure to contact Fernanda Alcocer, Mirko Mladic or Andrea Gasser (owners of the brand) and I'm sure they'll work it out for you! See their Spring 2014 collection below  :)

Hace dos semanas hice un photoshoot para una marca recien abriendose al mercado este 2014- ICETEES. Esta es una marca que se mantiene muy enfocada en su vision de brindar disenhos modernos y divertidos inspirados en la moda, el disenho, la musica y la cultura pop en general. Ellos comenzaron como una marca de solo tshirts pero ahora se han expandido a hacer crop-tops, bodysuits, sombreros, beanies y sweaters. Si te estas preguntando como poder conseguir una... la marca reside en Santa Cruz, Bolivia pero hacen despachos al exterior. Aqui mismo podran ver su ultima coleccion de Primavera 2014.
